About NCEE

For more than 30 years, The National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) has been researching the world’s best-performing education systems to give states and districts the tools they need to become world class. Through this research, NCEE has uncovered the shared and essential elements of high-performing jurisdictions and how these elements work together to create systems that dramatically and equitably improve student learning. NCEE helps states, districts, and schools apply these lessons to their contexts through a cohesive and comprehensive set of policy consulting, system-redesign supports, and leadership development. NCEE’s NISL program is the most widely used school leadership program in the United States, and one of the few to be shown to improve student learning in third-party studies. NISL and other NCEE professional learning offerings utilize pedagogical approaches grounded in research, and have optional digital delivery and train-the-trainer models.
